In honor of the Olympics

Megan has come up with a new Olympic sport... COUCH DIVING!! One night we were watching diving on the Olympics and she climbed up on the couch, put her hands in the dive position and jumped off the couch. Of course I think she deserves the gold. Go Meggie!!!
She takes her position...
look at that form!
and she's off. I give her a perfect 10!
One of the benefits of living with Grandma...her cookies! Megan waits by the oven for them to be done.

Bitter Sweet

Today was Dallin's first day of the 1st grade and to be honest I have many different emotions about it. On one hand I am very excited that his days can be filled with something other than playing the Wii and begging for a friend to come over. And because his days are now spent at school that means my days can be spent doing things other than playing dinosaurs, board games and being a Wii cheerleader. (Who am I kidding... I will be home with Megan so that means I will be playing dolls, barbies, reading books and playing pretend cooking with her play food.) On the other hand he is my little boy and it is hard to admit that he is growing up. All day school seems so long for him and I will miss him throughout the day. I am lucky that Dallin loves school and was so excited to go today. That helped me get over my jitters. He is pretty dissapointed though that I won't let him ride the bus. (Who really wants to ride the bus to school??) So...I now join the ranks of moms everywhere who make lunches every night and then send their kids off to ALL day school. Boy, I feel old! Look at that cute boy!
Dallin is now a Bucaneer

On the home front...

Many of you have asked how the house building is going. As you can tell by the picture there is no house yet. It has been a very long process and as soon as I think we are close something else comes up. So far we have had to get a new grading plan, FEMA letter, buy flood insurance and the newest thing is that we have to put fire sprinklers in the house. Uggggg! Hopefully we will get them engineered and passed off by the county in the next couple of months and be on our way. I have never wanted to build our own house but I have to say that I am excited about it. We will be happy to be in our own house again and I think it will all be worth it. I will keep you all informed of our progress. Brandon always says that patience is a virtue I was not blessed with so please pray for me to have it throughout this process. I have a feeling I will need it.

Surviving the HOT summer!

I knew that Logandale was hot in the summer but I underestimated how HOT is can really get! We are so glad that Grandma and Papa have a pool. We have spent a lot of time in it. Dallin has really become a great swimmer and is currently working on his dives and flips while Megan just enjoys splashing around. Megan in the water slide at Gramma and Papa's in Toquerville

Never too much Disneyland!!

Meggie was amazed by the Jungle Cruise

Catching up on summer fun

Since I just started blogging I thought I would catch everyone up on how we spent some of our summer. We went to Disneyland a few months ago and we all had so much fun!

Megan on the Merry-go-roundFamily picture with Goofy. You can tell that Megan didn't like the characters too much!
With all the fun rides at Disneyland, Megan's favorite thing was the petting zoo.
Dallin and Daddy after the Raging Rapids. This was Dallin's favorite ride.
Dallin loved getting his face painted!

For a long time now I have insisted that blogging is pointless but after thinking about it for awhile (and a few guilt trips) I have decided that it will be a good way to keep in touch with family and friends. Please be patient with me while I learn the ropes!

Brandon and I have been maried for 10 wonderful years! I could not have asked for a better husband or best friend! We have two beautiful children. Dallin is 6 1/2 and Megan is 2. We are living in Logandale and will hopefully start building our house in the next couple months. (I will keep you all posted on the progress of the house with pictures as soon as we get started.) I am thankful to be living my dream life with my wonderful family.
Meggie adds SPICE to our lives. She always wants to dress herself and this is one of her favorite outfits. Her princess jammie shirt (that she has to put on herself), a diaper (complete with the tape around it so she won't take it off) and a pair of my high heels. She is stubborn and headstrong but I wouldn't have it any other way! We love her so much!Dallin is our sweetheart. I always say that if I could have anybody's demeanor it would be Brandon or Dallin. They are really the nicest people I know. Dallin has a heart of gold and a smile that lights up my world! I am so blessed!
