It's Unofficially Official!

It's unofficially official. We have started the house!

It's Official because we have broken ground!!
It's Unofficial because we don't technically have permits yet but who lets a little thing like that stop them! :)

We started digging the pad this past week. I have delayed blogging about it because it makes it too official and truthfully the whole thing scares me to death! It is pretty exciting though! Rock N Roll is doing a great job!
They have to dig out about 4 feet of dirt and then put it back in and compact it.

Mitch WORKING hard! Papa marking the pad.
The kids love to go down to the lot and play in the big hole, climb on the dirt piles and throw rocks. Will they be dissapointed when there is a house there and no more big dirt piles?
Brandon worked hard making a dust permit sign for us and I think it looks great!
Doesn't that sign look shnazzy?!?
More fun on the dirt piles!!

1st Soccer Game

Saturday was Dallin's first soccer game and I am so very proud of him! He did such a great job running up and down the field and getting to the ball. It is pretty entertaining to watch a bunch of 5 and 6 years olds play soccer but they all did a great job. Unfortunately his team lost but they still had fun. Dallin scored a goal during his previous practice but I noticed he seemed a little tired during the game. I attributed it to the INTENSE heat and thought nothing more about it. I later found out (through a not so pleasant experience) that he actually had the flu. Hopefully next time the weather will be a bit cooler and Dallin will be feeling better! Look at that soccer stud!

Team huddle

Dallin even got to be the goalie for awhile. It was stressful to me but he did a good job.

Megan had to get into the action too!

Livin' in the Country

We have really LOVED living in Logandale. I like the slow paced lifestyle, we have made some great friends and I like that my kids can have a little bit more freedom. (Not that I don't have days where I REALLY want a Target and a Costco close by) Megan, however, should have been born on a farm. She LOVES animals! Brandon took her to a friends house who has chickens, ducks and goats. She loved every minute of it. Megan riding a goat!
Up close and personal. Megan meets her first chicken.

My TIVO is set!

I am so excited for tonight!! After nine long months of waiting Heroes is back on! My Tivo is set and the kids will be going to bed on time tonight! This is such a great show. I can't wait to see what Sylar has up his sleeve now. I've heard that some of the good guys turn bad. I just hope it's not Peter or Claire. Fall is the best time of year. The weather is cooler, fun holidays and my TV shows are on again! For those of you who have never watched Heroes check it out! Hope you enjoy it!

NEVER FORGET

“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. “- President George W. Bush, November 11, 2001
“Today, we gather to be reassured that God hears the lamenting and bitter weeping of Mother America because so many of her children are no more. Let us now seek that assurance in prayer for the healing of our grief stricken hearts, for the souls and sacred memory of those who have been lost. Let us also pray for divine wisdom as our leaders consider the necessary actions for national security, wisdom of the grace of God that as we act, we not become the evil we deplore.”- Rev. Nathan Baxter, Dean of Washington National Cathedral
**It seems like 9/11 is not being talked about a lot today but I hope it is a day of remembrance for everyone. I can remember everything about that day and it still makes me so sad. I am thankful to live in this beautiful country and for the freedoms we have and for all those who defend that freedom everyday!

'Sweet' Success

For a long time now I have been telling Brandon that I will make him his favorite treat.... Cinnamon Rolls. So I finally got on the internet and searched for the best cinnamon roll recipe. CINNABON! I found a great recipe and decided to try it out. After one failed attempt...thanks to Megan for dumping a whole container of salt in while my back was turned. I should have taken pictures of it. I turned around just in time to see a waterfall of salt going into the bowl. I yelled her name and as she turned to me the salt went all over the counter and floor. Brandon thought I could just scoop out the salt. "UH...I don't really think I can scoop out a pound of salt. Thanks anyway, honey." Needless to say after I was done cleaning the mess up I wasn't really in the mood do it again. I tried again the next day though and kept a more vigilent eye on Megan. In the end I achieved 'SWEET' SUCCESS!! They tasted exactly like Cinnabon! They were so YUMMY. It didn't help though that the next day I read in a book that Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls were just about the worst thing you can eat. Oh well...it can just be a special treat every once in awhile. I will include a link for the recipe for anyone who wants to try them out. Good Eats Everyone!

FUN! FUN! FUN!

We are so lucky that we love spending time with both sides of our family and that is exactly what we got to do this Labor Day weekend. First we went up to the Parawon Fair with my family. Unfortunately, Brandon had to work but me and the kids got to spend time with my parents, grandparents, my sister DeeLynn and her kids. It was a hot day but we still had fun. (Notice how I am not on any of the rides with my kids? That is what is so great about having wonderful nieces and nephews who help me out all the time. This time I was especially thankful that I didn't have to ride any of the nauseating rides. Sorry Ryan!)

Dallin and Ryan getting ready to go on the swing ride
Erica and Megan on the merry-go-round.
Amanda and Megan. Megan wanted to ride in THIS car so Amanda had to duck in the back. (Amanda, just a few more things like this and you will have the camel ride payed back!)

Papa and Dallin on the Ferris Wheel
While we were in Parawon I got to stop by and see our GREAT friend Jared (aka Bubba) and his cute family who had come down from Salt Lake to visit his parents. He is currently battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. I made him this quilt and in return he posed in typical Bubba fashion! Please send a prayer his way for a full recovery. We love you Bubba!!
When we came home we got to have a swim party and BBQ with Brandon's family. I have loved being able to see them more since we moved to Logandale. The company was great and the food was fantastic!

Cute Molly Mae!
Kyle looking like a hunk!

Meggie loves the water!
Cutest boy!
Sam and Aunt Shell
Becky, Megan and Bonnie. (Don't let the kiss fool you...Megan likes to pick on Bonnie. She is the only person she has ever known who is smaller than her.)
Brett liked to surf on Brandon's boogie board. Look at him go!
