this has megan written all over it

she has mastered the toilet but...she hasn't gotton the hang of the toilet paper yet.

happy father's day

to the best father i know!! i asked the kids for 3 things they love about their dad. here is what they said.

dallin - 1. he plays with me
2. he helps me
3. he loves me

megan - 1. he hugs & kisses me
2. he goes swimming with me
3. he throws me in the air & catches me and wrestles with me

me - there are many things i love about brandon but i will limit the list to 3
1. i can always be myself with him
2. he is a wonderful and loving husband and father
3. he is my best friend

the circus came to town

so we decided to go.

the kids loved to watch the acrobats... and the elephants...
and the clowns...

and the high wire...

and we loved watching them!

left behind

it's hard to be the one left behind as your big brother races out the door to play with friends. and today her little heart broke. so i declared it 'megan day' ! i told her we could do whatever she wanted to do.

first she wanted chips and salsa. (it runs in my family..whenever we are upset chips and salsa seem to make everything better.)

next we watched tinkerbell.

then we had a tea party.

then she wanted to make brownies.

she loves to lick the spoons!

can you tell she enjoyed it?

i am so thankful for the time i have with her and i am glad that she can not yet run out the door as easily as dallin does. i will cherish every moment because i know that soon she too will run out the door and i will be the one left behind.

~vintage photos~

i found a website that takes your photos and makes them appear vintage. this is great for me because i don't have the best camera and i am completely computer illiterate. it might be picture overload but i was so enthralled with it i did a bunch of photos. if you want to try it out click here.

FHE at town square

i had the great idea to have family home evening at town square on monday. sure, it may have something to do with my obsession with yogurtland but the kids had a blast playing in the water. i sure love these cute kids. i absolutely love them!

i'm so proud of her

megan is potty trained! i was so dreading doing this. megan is very stubborn and doesn't do anything that she doesn't want to do. so i was getting ready for an epic battle. but during the last week of school we went to pick dallin up from school and she said

"mom, i want to go to school"

i said "you can't go to school until you go potty on the big potty"

she seemed flabbergasted "WHY!"

me "because teachers don't want to change your diaper"

again this seemed to boggle her mind and when dallin got in the car she made sure to tell him "dallin, teacher don't want to change my diaper."

that was all it took. after that she would tell me when she needed to go and we put her big girl panties on. there have been a few accidents but over all she has been amazing. we even drove to vegas with no problems.

i am so happy that this went smoother than i thought it would and i am glad to be done with the diapers but it is another reminder that she isn't going to be my little baby anymore. she is so ready to be a big girl and it makes me sad. i wish i could freeze time and keep my kids just the way they are.

she kept her end of the deal though and it looks like she will be starting preschool in sept. time flies by!

the solution??

spots!

spots is the lizard they catch outside. (truthfully, i'm sure it is not the same lizard that they catch everytime but they all look the same)

almost everyday we hunt for lizards. it is the best of both worlds. the kids feel like they get to have a pet but i don't have to take care of it. at the end of everyday we release him so we can catch him again tomorrow.

i am amazed at how brave megan is. she loves holding lizads and frogs. hopefully these kind of catch and release pets will do for them for awhile.

there's no place like home

i know that i sound like dorothy but i really believe there is no place like home. i have loved being in our new house. i love having our own space again. in fact i love just about everything!! here is a list of some of the things i love about our new house.

i love...

the drinking fountain. it is so nice to not have to get a million cups for the kids everyday! (this is also a favorite of the neighborhood kids) my kitchen. i love...well...everything about it!

the fireplace

the kids playroom...it is nice for the kids to have a place for all their toys and if it is a mess we can just close the door!

the toy organizer my dad made me. i'm a lucky girl!

meggie's play room. i thought she wouldn't use this room very much but she loves it! she plays tea party everyday. she sets up all her babies and cooks for them. there have been many times i've gone to get a pan out only to find them gone. i always know where to find them though. (in megan's kitchen) she is so cute!

her bedroom turned out so cute and she amazed us all by sleeping in her big girl bed. (not all night long but it's a start) BYE BYE CRIB!

dallin's bedroom. he loves his room and so do i.

my BLUE washer and dryer!! it almost makes doing laundry fun...ALMOST!!

a lot of people told us building a house is the hardest thing on a marraige but we really enjoyed it. i enjoyed the creative aspect of it...getting to pick out everything and designing things was really fun. we enjoy living in logandale and love our new ward and neighborhood. the journey was well worth it! everyone has an open invitation to come over any time!
