It was a beautiful day with my beautiful boy.

it is a tradition that Grandma Becky makes all her grandkids baptism quilts. dallin was so excited to get his.

i don't want to loose this memory...

the main reason i do this blog is to preserve memories. and for some reson today i remembered a memory with dallin and wanted to write it down so i will never forget...

when he was 4 i would pick him up from preschool and we would play 'i spy' everyday on the way home.
one day...
he said "i spy something green and sticky."
me "hmmm....grass?"
dallin "no"
but he is laughing so hard in the back seat i can hardly understand him
me "hmm...a tree"
dallin "no mom. it's green and sticky!"
me "i don't know. i give up. what is it?
dallin " a booger!"
me "yeah...i guess you're right. a booger is green and sticky."
dallin "no mom, i picked a booger and flicked it in your hair!!"

needless to say i wasn't very happy about having a booger in my hair but his laughter was so contagious that we both laughed hysterically about it. to this day i can not play a game of 'i spy' without remembering it! dallin at 4 years old

i should've cleaned the house
i should've worked on primary things
i should've paid bills
but instead i...

built a castle and watched this movie about a princess...
with my princess.

it was a day well spent.

today is dallin's 8th birthday so i gave him this birthday interview. here are his answers...

favorite color: red, black

favorite subject in school: art

favorite place to go: disnleyland

favorite thing to do: play the wii and spend time with family

what do you want to do when you grow up: police officer

favorite number: 8 because that is when you are baptized

we love this boy so much and we are so proud of him! happy 8th birthday dallin!

love letters

for family home evening last week we talked about families and how important everyone in the family is. then i presented each member of the family with their own mailbox. for the rest of the month we can put little love notes and candy in each others mail boxes. it has been a fun thing to do and i have loved all the love notes i have recieved but this poem that dallin wrote for me is one of my favorites.
